Duties

Be an active researcher, dedicated to university teaching and supervision of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees; and undertake administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements

A PhD in any social sciences or cultural disciplines (including political science, international relations, sociology, and others) with specialized expertise in contemporary Korean society.  Korean language proficiency is a requirement, as is strong evidence of teaching excellence and research accomplishments and/or potential.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach broad-based courses on Korean society as well as concept-oriented courses drawing on his/her academic disciplines.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
