Department of Public Policy is recruiting multiple faculty with a strong record in research and education in the following areas.

Duties

Contribute to research, service, teaching and teaching-related activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  The appointees are also expected to be active researchers and contribute to the broader intellectual project of the Department in terms of publications, seminars, workshops and research grants.

Requirements

For post (1), a PhD in Public Administration or related disciplines, with research specializations in one or more sub-fields of public management [such as comparative public management, budgeting and finance, human resource management, or e-government (big data management)].  Candidates should be able to teach across the general public management curriculum. Those with strong research skills in experimental design and quantitative methodology are welcome to apply.

For post (2), a PhD in Public Policy or Urban Policy related disciplines, with strong quantitative research skills and specializations in one or more policy sub-fields (such as housing policy, urban policy, transportation policy, or sustainability).  Candidates should be able to teach across the general public and urban policy curriculum on substantive policy topics and research methods. Those who can research and teach in housing policy and studies are welcome to apply.

For post (3), a PhD in Political Sciences or related disciplines, with research specializations in one or more policy sub-fields (such as political analysis, politics/political economy, political theory), and the ability to teach across the general politics curriculum.

For all posts, candidates are expected to have an active research agenda that leads to external funding, provide evidence of teaching ability (including student evaluations) and proven ability to produce high quality publications.  Candidates for Associate Professor should have a substantial record of research publications, and are expected to take a leadership role in the department’s flagship politics, policy and public management programmes.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
