The University has established a School of Data Science in July 2018 to demonstrate its commitment and leadership in the field of Data Science.  It is the first freestanding School of Data Science in the higher education sector of Hong Kong.

Applications are sought in the broad research themes outlined above.  Candidates of all experience levels are welcome.  The appointment will be made at a rank commensurate with the qualifications and experience.  The posts are substantiation-track positions.

Duties

The appointees are expected to make significant contribution to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; advise postgraduate research students; play an active role in curriculum development and management; maintain an active research profile; actively seek external grants and contracts to support research endeavors; provide service to the School and University governance; contribute to professional engagement, networking, and outreach activities that enhance the academic and professional life of the School.

Requirements

A PhD in Data Science or related disciplines, with a strong research record and promising teaching ability.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
