Duties

The appointee is expected to provide leadership in teaching and research in the area of Biostatistics; support the mission of excellence in professional education and research; and establish and develop undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Biostatistics and related disciplines.  S/he will also be expected to lead a new Department to be established, and steer the unit to enhance the mission and vision of the University in alignment with the University’s Strategic Plan.

Requirements

A PhD degree in Biostatistics or related disciplines.  The candidates should possess a distinguished record of teaching, research and scholarship, and substantial relevant experience in tertiary education; outstanding management effectiveness; commitment to teamwork; and strong communication and networking skills to build and nurture internal and external contacts to the benefit of the new academic unit.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
