Research Assistant (Full-time/Part-time) (4 posts) in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (Appointment for 6 months with possibility of extension)

For post (1), Project : Understanding Academic Dishonesty among Hong Kong University Students: Influences of Personal and Contextual Factors [Ref. C/R/166/09]

For post (2), Project : A Panel Study of Social and Political Engagement Among University Students in Hong Kong [Ref. C/R/167/09]



Collect, compile and analyze data; assist in designing, testing research materials and evaluation of research projects; prepare research reports based on data results; and perform any other duties as assigned.


A good honours degree in Education/Psychology or other related social science disciplines.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, articulate and tactful communication skills; being self-motivated, self-disciplined, meticulous and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.  Strong computer and statistical skills in Microsoft Office, SPSS, HLM, EQS, AMOS statistical software and E-prime, and being a good team player are required.  Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of and skills in web/mobile app development and design.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic (except part-time appointment).
