Research Assistant in the College of Business (Appointment for 6 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. B/R/872/09]

 

Duties

To cope with the rapid expansion of EMBA (Chinese) programme, we are looking for a Senior Research Assistant to help accomplish the following goals:

  1. Collect and analyze marketing intelligence for the programme, in particular social media marketing activities and metrics of major competitors in the region;
  2. Create regular content for EMBA (Chinese) official WeChat account (e.g. impromptu, newsjacking);
  3. Distribute and promote content (e.g. working with platforms, agents, or other accounts to maximize the reach and impact of content created);
  4. Track content performance and make adjustment when necessary;
  5. Manage and cultivate media relationships; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A Master’s Degree in Journalism/Communication/Marketing or PR related disciplines, with at least 2 years’ experience in copywriting/creative writing (preferably in WeChat public accounts) and no more than a total of 6 years of service at the University;
  2. Strong writing skills in Chinese;
  3. Proficiency in English; capability to translate and curate articles in English in an efficient manner;
  4. Ability to grasp readers’ needs, especially those of business professionals from Mainland China;
  5. Ability to think outside the box and demonstrate creativity in content topics and format types;
  6. Investigative mindset and willingness to delve deeper into information sources so as to produce original content; and
  7. Experience in liaising with media and vendors would be an advantage.

 

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
