Executive Officer II in the Academic Regulations and Records Office [Ref. E/271/09]

 

The Academic Regulations and Records Office provides academic support services to undergraduate students and staff of the academic departments.  Its areas of work include student enrolment, class scheduling, course registration, credit transfer, conduct of examinations, student assessment, organization of award ceremonies, drafting of academic regulations, and servicing the Senate and a number of University committees.  The Office is responsible for maintaining the University’s student records and the curriculum information and course catalogue for undergraduate programmes.  It also operates a Student Service Centre on campus to handle students’ enquiries and various applications.

Duties

Provide administrative support in undergraduate student matters. Main duties include day-to-day administration of student records, coordination of work processes and projects, provision of academic and student support services, support in the development and enhancement of computer systems or web functions, supervision of Clerical Officers, and performing any other assignments.

Requirements

A good honours degree with at least 2 years’ post-qualification working experience. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good IT skills and proficiency in MS Office (including Excel and Access); and ability to perform multi-tasks, work independently, as a team and work under pressure are required. Candidates with working experience in computer applications or systems development projects would be an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
