Technical Officer in the School of Creative Media [Ref. E/240/03]

 

Duties

  1. Manage and maintain the School’s workshops, studios and exhibition areas;
  2. Provide support to the course offerings and the School’s exhibitions and events;
  3. Advise students, staff and faculty on the proper use of equipment, materials and facilities;
  4. Ensure health and safety policies and practices being employed;
  5. Purchase of supplies, materials, equipment and tools required for the workshops; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Occasional irregular working hours may be required but not frequent.



Requirements

A Diploma/Certificate in related disciplines, with at least 2/3 years’ relevant experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of workshop machinery (including woodworking power and hand tools, laser cutting and 3D printing machines, computers and AV equipment).  Good communication skills in English and Chinese, and ability to work independently as well as in a diverse team environment are required.  Possession of first aid and safety certificates is preferred. 


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
