Temporary IT Officer (Security) (at the rank of Executive Officer II) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. D/R/065/09]


Duties

  1. Conduct regular security operations such as security vulnerability scanning, firewall policy and audit log reviews;
  2. Liaise and coordinate with information security service providers and user departments in providing security assessment and vulnerability management services;
  3. Provide support to user departments in vulnerability management;
  4. Assist in implementing appropriate security controls for reduction of risk in departmental IT systems;
  5. Manage and track the resolution of vulnerabilities, and assist in vulnerabilities closure;
  6. Provide support in risk remediation;
  7. Assist in handling information security incidents, breaches or violations; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.



Requirements

A good honours degree in Computer Science/Information Management or related disciplines, preferably with working experience in the information technology industry.  Hands-on experience in information security would be an advantage.  Good analytical skills, experience in task/project management, strong sense of responsibility, and good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.  Candidates without an industry-recognized professional certificate in Information Security (e.g. CISA and CISSP) are expected to seek certification, once employed.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
