Temporary Clerical Officer II/Temporary Clerical Assistant in the Academic Regulations and Records Office (Appointment for 3 months) [Ref. C/R/291/09]


The Academic Regulations and Records Office provides academic support services to undergraduate students and staff of the academic departments.  Its areas of work include student enrolment, class scheduling, course registration, credit transfer, conduct of examinations, student assessment, organization of award ceremonies, drafting of academic regulations, and servicing the Senate and a number of University committees.  The Office is responsible for maintaining the University’s student records and the curriculum information and course catalogue for undergraduate programmes.  It also operates a Student Service Centre on campus to handle students’ enquiries and various applications.

Duties

Provide clerical and logistics support to the 2019 and 2020 Graduation Ceremony.  Main duties include assisting in the preparation of programme books/seating plans/e-tickets; handling data input; stocktaking; setting up venues; and performing any other duties as assigned.

Irregular working hours may be occasionally required.

Requirements

5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 2 years’ working experience, preferably with experience in clerical work/coordinating and organizing events.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); effective interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team; and proficiency in computer applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, English and Chinese Word-processing) are required.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Temporary Clerical Assistant.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a computer application or written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
