Scientific Officer (4 posts) in the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences [Ref. C/587/09]

 

Duties

The professional veterinary Scientific Officer is expected to contribute to the teaching of undergraduate veterinary students in problem-based learning (PBL) and clinical skills teaching sessions.  Training for PBL tutoring will be provided by the course leaders at CityU.  Duties will include:

  1. Act as a PBL tutor for BVM students during the Animal Body, Function & Dysfunction or Host, Agent Defense courses;
  2. Provide assistance for academic faculty in animal handling, clinical practical courses and field trips;
  3. Assist academic faculty with the development and implementation of course-based materials and resources;
  4. Provide administrative support to academic faculty for teaching and learning such as managing course content on the JCC’s online learning platform and assessment activities; and
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

A good honours in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent veterinary degree, preferably registerable in Hong Kong with not less than 5 years’ working experience in veterinary medicine.  Experience in mixed practices and good command of spoken Cantonese is preferred.  Candidates with keen interest in veterinary education would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
