CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Company Limited (CityU VDL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of City University of Hong Kong providing research and diagnostic service to local and regional veterinarians, along with world-class teaching and research facilities for students of CityU’s Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences.
Applications are invited for the above post:
Assist in the daily operation of CityU VDL. Main duties include to receive and distribute laboratory samples throughout the laboratory; enter laboratory data; record, file and retrieve laboratory results; perform cleaning and sterilisation of laboratory and laboratory equipment; check and maintain equipment; provide clerical support to specimen receiving and administration matters; respond to telephone and email enquiries; handle and resolve enquiries from clients and suppliers; handle laboratory consumable order requests from clients; and perform any other assignments.
Holiday and weekend rotations are required.
A good honours degree/Higher Diploma in Science or related disciplines. Candidates with veterinary nursing background are encouraged to apply. Excellent computer skills; good command of written and spoken English; ability to work independently as well as with laboratory teams; capability to meet deadlines; and good interpersonal skills and being attentive to details are required.
The appointment will be under CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Company Limited. Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental schemes.
