Administrative Officer (Research Studies – Statistics & IT Matters) (at the rank of Executive Officer I/II) in the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies [Ref. C/505/09]

 

Duties

Assist in matters related to postgraduate studies and other university-wide initiatives.  Main duties include to:

  1. Conduct data analysis, compile statistical reports and prepare presentations for various purposes;
  2. Manage databases, and coordinate systems to support institutional data analysis;
  3. Respond to regular and ad-hoc data requests;
  4. Coordinate and update departmental websites, and develop new websites for other initiatives;
  5. Provide IT support and advice to resolve IT-related issues for the office;
  6. Serve as the departmental contact person for IT-related matters; and
  7. Perform any other assignments.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree in Computer Science/Statistics/IT-related disciplines with at least 7 years’ working experience, preferably in higher education sector.  Competence in statistical applications; excellent computer skills with solid experience in MS Office (Access and Excel).  Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese; good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and under pressure; and strong sense of responsibility are required.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment at the rank of Executive Officer II.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
