Executive Officer I/II in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences [Ref. C/405/09]

 

Duties

Assist the College Office in matters related to research, postgraduate and knowledge transfer activities.  Duties include to:

  1. Provide administrative support for postgraduate degree programs, research degree admission, research grant applications, knowledge transfer projects and some staffing matters;
  2. Provide secretarial support to committees and working groups;
  3. Organize events and seminars;
  4. Coordinate research ethics proposals and integrity training for research students;
  5. Provide support for joint PhD and Mainland Collaboration Scheme;
  6. Support the preparation for the Research Assessment Exercise;
  7. Prepare reports, data analysis, draft policies, procedures and other documentation; and
  8. Perform any other assignments.



Requirements

A good honours degree with at least 5 years’ administrative experience, preferably in the higher education sector.  Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese; being self-motivated; good presentation and organizational skills; and ability to work under pressure are required.  Solid experience in research and committee work is highly preferred.  Candidates with more than 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
