Senior Manager (at the rank of Assistant Registrar) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. C/396/09]

Reporting to the Director and Associate Director of Campus Development, the appointee will play a key role in the strategic planning, capital deployment and project execution to develop a quality and environmental friendly campus for learning and working.  As a senior member of the Office, the appointee will actively participate in office management and cultural development.


Duties

  1. Implement the University’s capital development programs and various AA&I projects in alignment with the overall strategic plan;
  2. Oversee the building services installation of the capital development programs as assigned from time to time;
  3. Work closely with other Units of the Office and various stakeholders to deliver quality, efficient, effective and user-oriented services, and provide continuous improvement;
  4. Report to the Associate Director on matters related to infrastructure and renewal, campus master plan, design standards, feasibility studies, annual capital project submission, project management on design, contract and construction, procurement of fixture, furniture and equipment, testing and commissioning; and
  5. Perform any other assignments.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree in Building Services Engineering or related disciplines and full membership of the HKIE/similar professional bodies, with at least 15 years’ relevant experience, of which at least 5 years at senior management level.  Extensive experience in building development and large-scale building project execution in Hong Kong; being self-motivated and performance driven with proven management ability to complete tasks within tight project schedules; good analytical and interpersonal skills; and high degree of commitment to the University are required.  Experience in government subvention projects; and substantial administrative experience in higher education institutions are preferred. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and housing benefits (where applicable).
