Technical Officer in the Facilities Management Office [Ref. C/390/09]

 

Duties

  1. Responsible for the following:
    • the repair and maintenance of ELV facilities (including SMATV, CABD, CCTV), building access control system, campus master clock system, mobile radio system, security control system, and public address system;
    • the repair, maintenance and operation of AV systems for teaching & learning activities and University events;
    • the design, procurement and installation of ELV and AV systems;
  2. Coordinate and supervise contractors’ work on Alterations, Additions and Improvements programs on ELV and AV aspects; and
  3. Perform any other assignments related to ELV and/or AV systems.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree/Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in Electronic Engineering or related disciplines with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in ELV and/or AV system design, or a related Certificate with 3 years’ post-qualification experience.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good interpersonal skills; being self-motivated and attentive to details; and ability to work independently under pressure against tight schedules are required.  Experience in project management or computer network management is preferred.  Candidates with substantial relevant experience in either ELV or AV system will also be considered.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
