Director of Development in the Development Office [Ref. C/349/09]

 

In a strategic move to further strengthen the fast developing Institutional Advancement functions of the University, the University is looking for seasoned and dynamic fundraising professionals to take up a number of strategic positions in the Development Office which is one of the key offices under the leadership of the Vice-President (Development and External Relations).

 

Duties

Reporting to the Vice-President (Development and External Relations) and working as a key member of the senior management team, the appointee will lead the Development Office and play a key role in the University’s fundraising strategies and operations. S/he is expected to take a proactive approach to raise funds and build a strong network and good relationship with donors and prospects for further advancement of the University, in coordination with Colleges/Schools and various University units.

 

Requirements

A Master’s degree/good honours degree, with substantial experience and a successful track record in fundraising for education or other philanthropic purposes, and with a good knowledge of tertiary education. Strong leadership ability, substantial management experience, and extensive contacts with industries and businesses are required. The appointee should also have a dynamic personality, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong organizing ability to cultivate and engage donors and prospects.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and housing benefits.
