Part-time Career Advisor in the Student Development Services [Ref. B/R/943/09]

 

Career and Leadership Centre (CLC) is set up to strengthen students’ career preparation and to enhance their career awareness, competencies and employability.  Focused training and recruitment talks are organized to enhance students’ career knowledge and skills to help them achieve their career aspirations and acquire compelling skills/strategies for a smooth landing in the workplace.

Duties

Reporting to the Section Head of CLC, the appointee will provide professional career advice and training to students and other related parties.  Main duties include to:

  1. Provide individual one-on-one career consultation on career development, graduate employment and further studies;
  2. Provide students with guidance and assistance in career preparation, job search and placement/internship;
  3. Advise students on professional writing for resume, cover letter and other application documents;
  4. Facilitate better preparation for job screening and selection practices;
  5. Develop training materials for workshops and seminars in response to career knowledge and skills needed by students and desired by employers;
  6. Conduct career-related training in group setting; and
  7. Perform any other assignments.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a postgraduate qualification;
  2. 10 years’ working experience in career counselling, human resources management and talent acquisition, mentoring programmes, training and development, preferably in STEM or civil services;
  3. Commitment to quality service;
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills; and
  5. Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).


Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
