Clerical Officer I/II in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences [Ref. B/317/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will work as a member of the Postgraduate Education and Research Team of the College Office.  Duties include to:

  1. Provide support in research degree admission (including Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, TA/RA scheme, self-financing scheme and Mainland Collaboration Scheme);
  2. Provide support in research degree student administration, CLASS 3MT Competition and CLASS Outstanding Research Paper Awards Scheme for PhD students;
  3. Support the preparation for Research Assessment Exercise 2020 and arrangements for the external experts’ visits to Hong Kong;
  4. Provide support for committee work;
  5. Handle enquiries and organize general correspondence, filing and records;
  6. Provide administrative and clerical support to the Office for its daily operation; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.


The appointee will be required to work outside office hours for attending meetings and/or participating in events and activities.

Requirements

5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 2 years’ relevant working experience.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); proficiency in computer knowledge and data management skills; good interpersonal skills, being self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility; and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, meet tight deadlines, handle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks are required.

Candidates with more than 6 years’ relevant working experience may be considered for appointment as Clerical Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
