Clerical Officer I/II in the Global Engagement Office [Ref. B/290/09]

 

Duties

Reporting to the Manager/Assistant Manager of the Office, the appointee is expected to:

  1. Handle student visa applications and related matters;
  2. Manage reception counter and handle email and telephone enquiries from non-local/local students and their parents;
  3. Assist in organising non-local student orientation programme and student peer support programmes;
  4. Advise and assist students with their application for and enrolment in student exchange and summer programmes outside Hong Kong;
  5. Support activities to promote student integration and campus internationalization;
  6. Handle the website maintenance of the Office;
  7. Support the University’s Campus Work Scheme as the office coordinator;
  8. Provide administrative and clerical support to the Office for its daily operation; and
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Frequent interaction with students is necessary.  Off-campus duties, work after office hours, and occasional overseas travels may be required.

Requirements

5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 1 year’s relevant working experience.  A good honours degree is preferred.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); attention to details, good organizational, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills; being a good team player; ability to work independently and under pressure; and proficiency in MS Office are required. 

Candidates with more than 6 years’ relevant working experience may be considered for appointment as Clerical Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
