Supervisory Executive Officer in the Student Residence Office [Ref. B/216/09]

 


Duties

  1. Assist the Director of Student Residence Office in formulating the strategic directions, managing and overseeing the functions/duties of the Student Residence Office (SRO) in support of the strategic objectives of the University;
  2. Plan, implement and promote joint-hall and SRO programmes/events as well as other initiatives in enriching students' residential life and pursuit of academic excellence;
  3. Facilitate and support Residence Masters' work in respective halls for the orderly hall operation;
  4. Coordinate the recruitment and training of Residence Tutors, and liaise with the Residence Associations for greater synergy;
  5. Compile reports and take charge of SRO’s financial/budgetary matters; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.


The appointee is required to reside in the staff quarters provided in the student residence, work flexible hours and perform on call duty when necessary.

Requirements

A good honours degree with 10 years' post-qualification administrative and managerial experience, preferably with hall residential experience at tertiary education.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), strong analytical and marketing mind, good problem-solving and people management skills, and ability to work under pressure are required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and housing benefits (where applicable).
