Physical Education Officer I/II in the Student Development Services [Ref. B/135/09]

 

Duties

  1. Teach Physical Education (PE) courses;
  2. Coach and manage sports teams;
  3. Organize sports and health-related activities;
  4. Act as an advisor of Students’ Union sports clubs; and
  5. Provide administrative support on matters related to sports facilities and event management, sports development and PE programs.


The appointee will be required to work on irregular hours.



Requirements

  1. A good honours degree in Physical Education or related disciplines;
  2. At least 7 years’ post-qualification experience in teaching and coaching at secondary/tertiary level, organizing sports activities and other related administrative duties;
  3. Good command of English and Chinese;
  4. Good computer skills; and
  5. Good organizational skills, ability to coach/teach a variety of sports activities, and proficiency in Putonghua preferred.


Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Physical Education Officer II.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.



Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
