Technical Officer (Campus Planning) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. A/488/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will assist in strategic planning, administration and management of the campus master plan, campus space planning and allocation, associated capital projects development, and Alterations, Additions and Improvements (AA&I) projects of the University.  S/he will play a key role to provide support to UGC’s projects and Cost Allocation Guidelines (CAG), handle on-going system enhancement and maintenance of CAG specific attributes of space inventory. Main duties include to:

  1. Assist in the development of the University’s master plan;
  2. Liaise and coordinate with different stakeholders of the University to collect information for UCG’s CAG projects;
  3. Transform manually the space inventory into CAG agreed format and handle vast amount of booking data for all laboratories managed on a yearly basis;
  4. Use AutoCAD to draft layout plan and conduct site inspection;
  5. Coordinate data collection and prepare statistics and reports for management, other offices, and UGC; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree/Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate or equivalent in Architecture/Building Surveying or related disciplines, with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”), and at least 3 years’ relevant working experience. Ability to use AutoCAD, proven track record in project management and coordination, excellent communication skills to work with colleagues from different background and professions, strong sense of responsibility, good leadership and multi-tasking skills, being self-motivated, ability to complete tasks under tight schedule, proficiency in IT skills and MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.  Experience in higher education institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects and knowledge of Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
