Senior Manager (Buildings and Grounds) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. A/439/09]

 


Duties

Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Development, the appointee will be responsible for all operations of the Buildings and Grounds Section to develop, plan, organise and direct the maintenance, repair and alteration works.  S/he will lead a workforce of about 30 in-house staff to work on AA&I projects and involve in facilities planning, improvement and preventive measures; oversee building maintenance, plumbing and drainage; assist in budgeting, strategic planning, work scheduling improvement and implementation of campus facilities to ensure smooth operation; build up team spirit to enhance performance; provide professional advice to users; monitor project management (including contract administration to ensure timely completion of projects); and perform any other assignments.


Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Building/Surveying/Engineering or equivalent qualification (preferably with a recognized professional qualification), with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”), and at least 15 years’ relevant experience.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; being confident and creative; good presentation and organizational skills; self-motivation for performance enhancement; proven management and leadership ability to complete tasks within tight project schedules; and good analytical and interpersonal skills are required.  Substantial experience in higher education institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects, ability to use AutoCAD, Revit and computer graphic software are preferred. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
