Manager/Supervisory Executive Officer in the Council Secretariat [Ref. A/345/09]

 

Duties

Reporting to the Secretary to Council, the appointee will coordinate and facilitate the activities of the Council and its committees, and provide advice to the Council on all matters of procedures to ensure good university governance. S/he will also provide full support to the University Court; liaise with internal/external parties on matters related to the Council and the Court; and perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A good honours degree with substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level.  Strong analytical and organizing skills; outstanding ability to focus on issues; extensive experience in supporting high level committee work; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and exceptional writing skills are required.  Working experience in the higher education sector would be an advantage.

Candidates with less relevant administrative experience, but at least 10 years, may be considered for appointment as Supervisory Executive Officer.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and housing benefits (where applicable).
