Executive Officer I/II in the Finance Office [Ref. A/343/09]


Duties

  1. Report to the functional manager, and be responsible for the daily management and supervision of at least one of the functional focused teams, depending on the background and experience of the selected candidate:
    • Payment/Account Payables/Staff Disbursement
    • Tuition Fee Income, Government Subvention, Donation and Other Receipts
    • Treasury/Investment/Cashflow Management
    • Research Project Accounting/Reporting
  2. Coach the team(s) for best practices and initiate exercises to streamline operational workflow for process improvement;
  3. Prepare timely regular and ad-hoc reports and analyses to support management decisions; and
  4. Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.



Requirements

A good honours degree in Accounting/Finance or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ relevant working experience.  A qualified accountant and/or member of recognized professional accounting bodies; being self-initiative with outstanding leadership skills; strong analytical skills with out-of-the-box thinking; ability to work independently and being a good team player are required.  Proficiency in PC skills, experience in Oracle Financials/other ERP systems and the implementation of large-scale payment solution or improvement project would be an advantage.

Candidates with less working experience or less relevant background will be considered for the position as Executive Officer II.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
