Senior Technical Officer (Intelligent Building Services) in the Facilities Management Office [Ref. A/334/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will assist the Campus Services Manager in discharging the job duties and other related matters in relation to the function of intelligent building services systems.  Main duties include to:

  1. Supervise and monitor contractors to carry out repair and maintenance services for intelligent building equipment and systems (including Centralized Network Management, CCTV, Mobile Radio, Public Address, Smart Lock, Access Control, Satellite TV/Communal Aerial Broadcast Distribution System on campus, off campus and in residential quarters);
  2. Supervise subordinates and manage workshops;
  3. Provide technical advice/assistance to project teams and user departments for new design and installation of intelligent building services systems;
  4. Perform site supervision of contractors’ works on alternation, additions and improvements on any intelligent building services and related systems;
  5. Prepare tender documents and work reports; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree/Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in Electronic Engineering or related disciplines, with at least 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in intelligent building services and relevant systems.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; ability to work independently with strong initiative; good sense of responsibilities; team work, interpersonal and communication skills; and willingness to learn and eagerness for continuous improvement.  Experience in computer network management is preferred.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
