Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer (Contracts and Costs) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. A/333/09]

 

Duties

Monitor consultancy services,  provide  professional advice  to meet  statutory  requirements and solve possible problems; provide and review project budget estimates and cash flow projections; provide input for drafting consultancy agreements; advise tender/procurement strategy; prepare tender cost estimates and assist  in tender assessment; monitor and advise on project cost control; prepare final accounts; conduct cost appraisals, claim assessment and prepare reports; and perform any other assignments.

Requirements

A good honours degree in Quantity Surveying or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ relevant experience, and a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”) or equivalent issued by organisations recognised by the Commissioner for Labour.  Extensive experience in large development projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China, ability to use AutoCAD and Revit, self-motivation for performance enhancement, with proven ability to complete tasks within tight project schedules as well as good analytical and interpersonal skills are required.  Substantial experience in higher educational institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects are preferred. 

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer (Contracts and Costs).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
