Assistant Editor in the City University of Hong Kong Press [Ref. A/332/09]

 

Duties

  1. Serve as an editorial assistant and provide support to the editorial team (including copyediting and proofreading of manuscripts, preparation of relevant documentation, and research support);
  2. Provide preliminary assessment on the viability of publication projects;
  3. Provide administrative, clerical and logistics support to the daily operation of the Press;
  4. Provide support to the sales and accounting management of the Press; and
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A good honours degree, preferably in Languages or related disciplines;
  2. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  3. Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  4. Being a good team player and attentive to details;
  5. Ability to work independently; and
  6. Proficiency in MS Office are required.


Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.  The appointment will be at the rank of Technician.
