Communications Manager/Assistant Communications Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer I/II) in the School of Data Science [Ref. A/319/09]

 

Duties

  1. Responsible for public relations and communications matters of the School and the Hong Kong Institute for Data Science (HKIDS);
  2. Enhance visibility, branding and corporate image of the School and HKIDS;
  3. Manage the School’s and HKIDS’s websites and social media accounts;
  4. Assist in preparation of promotional materials, speeches, newsletters and write-ups for media and publicity activities;
  5. Manage the development of alumni relations and fundraising plans;
  6. Coordinate university-wide/external liaison events;
  7. Build and develop relationship with industrial collaborators and hiring partners;
  8. Assist in budget control of HKIDS and provide administrative support to HKIDS;
  9. Provide support to the School’s and HKIDS’s committees/meetings; and
  10. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree in Journalism/Communications/Marketing or related disciplines, with at least 2 years' relevant working experience, preferably in higher education sector.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good organizational and communication skills; and ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines are required.

Candidates with more than 7 years’ experience may be considered for appointment as Communications Manager.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
