Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Development, the appointee is expected to be a qualified geotechnical engineer who will play a key role in various capital, operation and property management projects from planning to implementation and delivery. As a senior member of the Office, the appointee will actively participate in office management and institutional cultural development.
Monitor the progress and quality of works; offer advice on slope/geotechnical work, ELS and foundation design, on-site problems project planning and implementation; check and coordinate relevant drawings; supervise contractors and workers to ensure compliance with requirements; coordinate amongst consultants/contractors, users and in-house units on record maintenance; handle contract administration matters (including project financial issues); oversee tendering exercises for employment of consultants/contractors; ensure rectification of defects be carried out; and perform any other assignments.
A good honours degree in Geotechnical Engineering/Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering; with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”) or equivalent issued by organisations recognised by the Commissioner for Labour, and at least 15 years’ relevant experience (of which at least 5 years at senior management level). Extensive experience in building development and large-scale building project execution in Hong Kong, self-motivation for performance enhancement, proven management and leadership ability to complete tasks within tight project schedules, as well as good analytical and interpersonal skills are required. Possession of professional qualification of MHKIE/MIGE/MICE/MIStructE, substantial experience in higher educational institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects, ability to use AutoCAD and Revit are preferred.
