Executive Officer I/II in the Department of Mechanical Engineering [Ref. A/298/09]

 

Duties

  1. Provide administrative support to teaching, research and professional activities of all faculty and teaching staff;
  2. Prepare statistics, reports, minutes and documents for committees and central office;
  3. Plan and monitor the operation of academic programmes;
  4. Handle recruitment and staffing matters;
  5. Assist in promotion of the department;
  6. Provide secretarial support to the Head and management;
  7. Supervise clerical staff; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree in English/Translation/Journalism/Communication.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently; evidence of leadership and IT proficiency are required.

Candidates with more than 7 years’ experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
