Executive Officer I/II in the Finance Office [Ref. A/239/09]

Duties

  1. Report to the Finance Manager, and be responsible in daily management and supervision of at least one of the functionally focused teams below:
    • Research Project Accounting/Reporting
    • Treasury/Investment/Cashflow Management
    • Tuition Fee Income, Government Subvention, Donation and Other Receipts
    • Payment and Account Payables
    • Staff Disbursement
  2. Coach the team for best practices and initiate exercises to streamline operational workflow for process efficiency and effectiveness;
  3. Prepare timely regular and ad-hoc reports and analyses to support management decisions; and
  4. Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.



Requirements

A good honours degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related disciplines, with at least 7 years’ relevant experience preferably in universities/NGOs/sizable organizations and at least 3 years in supervisory role.  Qualified accountant and/or member of recognized professional accounting bodies is preferred but not mandatory.  Excellent communication skills with good command of English and Mandarin; being self-initiative with outstanding leadership skills; strong analytical skills with out of box thinking; ability to work independently and being a good team player are required. 

Proficiency in PC skills, experience in Oracle Financials/other ERP system and the implementation of large-scale payment solution/improvement project would be an advantage.  Strong background and working experience in payroll and pension schemes will also be considered.

Candidate with less experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer II.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
