Be an active researcher, dedicated to university teaching and supervision of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degrees. The appointee is also required to undertake administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department.
A PhD in related disciplines, with an outstanding teaching and research record in the field and strong evidence of research potential in any of the broad fields related to cultural studies of Northeast and Southeast Asia. Expertise with an established teaching and research record in at least one Asian country, including language competence, is also required.
