Academic Coordinator (Veterinary Nursing) in the School of Continuing and Professional Education [Ref. C/409/09]


Duties

Manage, develop and deliver the Veterinary Nursing education programme offered by the School.  Duties include to design course materials; conduct both theoretical and practical teaching as well as student assessment; coordinate work placements for students; participate in veterinary nursing education promotion/public awareness events; and lead a team of teachers, which includes veterinary and para-veterinary professionals.  Working in weekends or evenings may be required.




Requirements

A PhD/Master’s degree in veterinary sciences or related disciplines, with a registerable veterinary nursing or veterinary medical qualification, and substantial experience in academic programme planning, development and administration.  Proven records of teaching and project supervision in higher education; good knowledge of related professional bodies and organizations; possession of practical veterinary skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high standard of numeracy and IT literacy; being self-motivated; good organization and time management skills; and ability to demonstrate the management of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) activities are required.  Candidates with relevant teaching qualifications and/or a veterinary education qualification are preferred.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
