Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Department of Public Policy [Ref. B/367/09]

Duties

Contribute to research, service, teaching and teaching-related activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  The appointees will be an active researcher that contributes to the broader intellectual project of the Department in terms of education and research and the pursuit of academic excellence.

Requirements

A PhD in Housing Policy, Urban Policy or Public Policy related disciplines, with strong quantitative research skills and specializations in one or more policy sub-fields (such as housing policy, housing management, urban policy, or transportation policy).

Candidates will have an active research agenda that leads to external funding, a proven ability to produce high quality publications together with evidence of teaching ability (including student evaluations).  The appointees for Professor should command a superb record of scholarly achievements and exert leadership in the field of housing and urban policy.  The appointees for Associate Professor should have an outstanding record of scholarly achievements in both teaching and research, a strong record in research grant and/or academic management expertise.  The appointees for Assistant Professor should have a solid record of, or evidence of high promise for, scholarly achievements in both teaching and research.  Candidates should be able to teach across the general housing and urban policy curriculum on substantive policy topics and research methods. Those who can research and teach in housing management and policy are welcome to apply.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
