Duties

The University strives to enhance its students’ English language skills and sets up the Centre to provide programmes, support services and facilities to undergraduates and postgraduates at the University. 

The Head of the Centre will be responsible for providing academic leadership in the planning and development of the Centre’s programmes and assessment processes, and ensuring that the Centre’s educational strategies are aligned with the goals of the University’s Strategic Plan.


Requirements

Candidates are expected to possess a postgraduate degree, preferably a doctorate, with experience in English language teaching and educational management.  Other essential qualities include proven expertise in programme management, financial management and human resource management; familiarity with working practices in language support centres in higher educational institutions; an ability to work with stakeholders at all levels within the University; and excellent technology, communication and interpersonal skills.  A track record of successful applications for extramural funding is desirable.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and housing benefits (where applicable).
