The Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy had the pleasure of receiving esteemed delegations from the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Provinces and the Qingdao West Coast New Area for Clean Energy Development in Hong Kong. The visit was a great opportunity for our team to demonstrate the latest research and development efforts in the field of clean energy while also exchanging ideas and insights with the esteemed delegates. Our team took the delegations to our demonstration site, where they were able to witness first-hand the impressive capabilities of our innovative technologies in clean energy development. And our guests were impressed by the innovative solutions we are developing to promote sustainable and clean energy practices in Hong Kong. These visits were a great success, as they allowed us to strengthen further our relationships and collaborations with esteemed partners in the field of clean energy. Our team is committed to continuing our efforts to promote sustainable and clean energy practices.


RTHK Interview on Solar Technologies

Prof. Angus YIP contributes to RTHK interview by sharing the latest development in solar technologies

HKICE participated in an interview with RTHK to discuss the latest developments in solar panel technology. Prof. YIP highlighted the advancements in solar panel efficiency and cost-effectiveness. They also discussed the role that solar energy is playing in the transition towards a more sustainable energy system. HKICE is actively engaged in research and development of clean energy technologies and has been promoting the use of solar power in Hong Kong. Through the contributions to RTHK's interview, we successfully raise the public awareness of the benefits of solar energy and encourage more widespread adoption of solar technology.

Exhibition for the Hong Kong Sustainable Campus Consortium (HKSCC) 2023

The Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy has recently participated in the Hong Kong Sustainable Campus Consortium (HKSCC) 2023 exhibition. Our team had set up an impressive booth showcasing the latest and most innovative PV products for solar energy conversion. The exhibition was a great success, as we had the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of individuals who shared a common interest in promoting sustainable and clean energy practices. Many participants were pleasantly surprised by the cutting-edge PV products we showcased. Their design was captivating, and their efficiency remarkable – resulting in an overwhelmingly positive response from everyone who attended.

We are proud to have been a part of this event and to have contributed to the ongoing efforts to promote sustainable and clean energy practices in Hong Kong. Our team is committed to continuing our research and development efforts in this area, and we look forward to participating in future exhibitions and events.

The visit by the Delegates of Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau (東莞市科技局) to the HKICE was a productive exchange of ideas. Both parties engaged in a dialogue on the clean energy research in HKICE, including hydrogen generation, lithium-ion battery technology, CO2 conversion, and perovskite solar cell development. The lab visit provided the Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau with a firsthand look at HKICE's research facilities and ongoing projects related to clean energy generation, storage, and materials development. By sharing insights, we explore realistic pathway to accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy technologies, and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Visit from Global Ocean Capital Promotion Council of Shenzhen

Global Ocean Capital Promotion Council of Shenzhen (深圳全球海洋中心城市建设促进会) visited the HKICE. We discussed the eco-shoreline concept and strategic collaboration between the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (SKLMP) and HKICE for the Carbon Neutrality/Blue Economy concept. The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into the research on clean energy being conducted at HKICE, as well as to explore potential areas of collaboration between the Shenzhen-Hong Kong.
The SKLMP is a key research organization focused on marine control and development, while HKICE is a leading research institute focused on clean energy and sustainable development. This visit provide an opportunity for both parties to exchange ideas and explore potential areas of collaboration in the areas of clean energy and marine development. It was part of a broader effort to promote scientific collaboration and advance research in the areas of clean energy and sustainable development.

Towngas visited HKICE on the recent development of various clean energy devices

Mr. Daniel FUNG, Head of Strategy & Innovation and Commercial and Mr Simon NGO, Head of Engineering of the Towngas lead a team visiting  HKICE in early November. We share a morning sharing the insights and viewpoints with fruitful discussion between two parties. HKICE also led a tour showing the latest devices demos and prototype on different energy, and the state-of-the-art facilities for device processing and characterization.

EMSD visited HKICE on the subject of renewable energy research and development
