Content : The following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:

Over one hundred students joined a ceremony today (Friday) to launch the Housing Authority Mobile Exhibition Van (MEV) visits to schools.

Starting this academic year, the MEV will give roving exhibitions to secondary schools in the territory. The van will carry messages and provide information on the work and services of the Housing Authority. More than 100 schools have been approached to arrange for the visit in the near future.

Officiating at the launching ceremony, which was held at Pui Ching Middle School, Mr. Fung Tung, Director of Housing, said that many local and overseas schools and education institutes have expressed interest in visiting the Housing Authority headquarters and public housing estates.

"It is not possible to make arrangements for all requests to visit the headquarters. The MEV is designed to take the initiative to accommodate the needs," he stated. It is hoped that the information will be conducive to the housing related education of students.

The Housing Authority is also conducting a survey to collect opinions of students on the activity. The findings will be taken into consideration for future plans.

At the ceremony, Mr. Fung presented a dummy questionnaire to the student representative indicating HA's intention to assist them to learn more about housing matters in Hong Kong.
