Historical Development of the Standing Committees of Hong Kong Housing Authority

 

Strategic Planning Committee was renamed from the formerly Development Committee on 25 September 1997.

Rental Housing Committee was renamed from the formerly Management and Operations Committee on 25 September 1997.

Establishment and Finance Committee re-structured into Finance Committee and Human Resources Committee with effect from 18 July 1996.

Change effective from April 2003:

 

  • a new Tender Committee (TC) was  created to scrutinise tenders and award contracts and have an overview of policies and guidelines on tendering matters;  

  • the Human Resources Committee (HRC) was subsumed under the Finance Committee (FC) ; 

  • the Rental Housing Committee (RHC) and Home Ownership Committee (HOC) was combined into a new Subsidised Housing Committee (SHC);  

  • the Complaints Committee (CC) was abolished, while the Housing Department was expected to strengthen the pre-meeting arrangement for the Subsidised Housing Committee  (SHC), to enhance communications with the public.
