To help new students get acquainted with the CityU community as soon as possible, the Global Engagement Office (GEO) organises a series of induction programmes exclusively for non-local students every semester during Orientation Week, i.e. one week before the semester begins. New non-local students are required to attend the Orientation Week activities.

Orientation Week provides a friendly and informative platform for new students to get to know more about the city, the University and, most importantly, the people. Working closely with academic and student support units at CityU and external bodies such as the police and some NGOs, the Orientation Programme organised by GEO provides inductive sessions and networking opportunities designed to meet non-local arrivals’ specific needs. A diverse range of topics is covered, from course arrangement to student finance, from student visa and immigration to part-time work and internship, and from student health to laws and order in Hong Kong.

The Orientation Programme schedule is available here.
