Description

Audio Visual Services can be categorized into two main areas namely; Technical Support Service and Engineering Service. Technical Support Service Provision of AV equipment / facilities in classrooms, lecture theatres, teaching laboratories (languages, video and multimedia laboratories) , communal areas, and conference rooms. Provision of technical and operational assistance on utilization of AV equipment upon request received. Provision of training / demonstration on utilization of AV equipment in classrooms and lecture theatres Management of AV distribution network for distribution of teaching videos to teaching venues. Reproduction of Audio and Video teaching programs for teaching departments. Provide on-line help support for the operation of AV equipment installed in the Lecture Theatres for users through the interactive AV Network. Engineering Service Design, procure, install and maintain AV system / facilities. Provision of repair and preventive maintenance for AV equipment and systems. Provision of on-campus video conferencing and conference telecasting services. Provision of event set-up services. Provision of technical consultation for special projects.

Service Hours for AV technical support for utilization of AV equipment at teaching venues : Semester A, B & Semester Examination Period Monday to Friday: 8:30 - 22:20 Saturday: 9:00 - 18:00 Sunday and Public Holiday: Close Semester Break, Term Break, Student Revision Period & University Holidays Break Monday to Friday: 9:00 - 20:30 Saturday: 9:00 - 18:00 Sunday and Public Holiday: Close Summer Term & Summer Term Examination Period Monday to Friday: 9:00 - 22:30 Saturday: 9:00 - 18:00 Sunday and Public Holiday: Close

Service Charge

Provision of set-up service and technical attendance for departmental events after office hours. Hourly rate for a technician is HK$190. There is no guarantee that each off-hour request can be fulfilled. Request for such services should be made at least 7 working days in advance. Reproduction / recording of AV material for non UGC funded activities. Provision of technical consultation for departmental AV installation project (provision of these technical consultation is subject to the availability of manpower).

Regulations or Guidelines

Regulations/ guidelines for using AV material reproduction services: The user shall observe all applicable copyright laws and license agreements of individual programmes/ materials, and shall be responsible for any infringement of copyright or license agreement which may arise.
