When using the venues, users are required to observe the following rules:
Do not block off emergency lighting, fire services installation, signage, escape routing and pedestrian flow;
Do not create excessive noise that may affect the normal activities on campus or cause nuisance to others;
Do not disseminate or display information or materials of commercial nature;
Present all banners / notices / promotional materials with name or logo of CityU and / or department with authorization for identification;
Use notice boards as provided. Do not post materials on areas which may cause damages or stains to building fabrics, e.g. floor, wall, ceiling, lamp-posts, lifts, escalators, etc.;
Use string or other removable devices to fix banner / flags / promotional materials. Do not use adhesive tapes;
Hang banner on the railing, but not the lamp-posts; and
Observe and comply with the law on copyright or other laws of the HKSAR.
Users shall be liable for any loss of or damage to the venue (including equipment, furniture and fixtures) arising from negligence, unintentional act, unauthorized maintenance or any other cause within the reasonable control of the users or the invitees. In the event of any loss of or damage to the venue (including equipment, furniture and fixtures) for which the users is liable, users shall reimburse the University the total cost to making good the damage or effecting replacement.
Venue is not intended to be used as a place of public entertainment as interpreted in the Places of Public Entertainment Ordinance, Chapter 172. (i.e. the theatre cannot be used by the general public unless invited by the applicant).
Users are responsible for obtaining any licences for their function, if required by laws.
Refreshment and drinks are not allowed inside the room(s).
The stated seating capacity of the venues should not be exceeded.
Users are responsible for reinstating the facility to its original condition immediately after use.
CityU will be closed when typhoon signal No.8 or above is in force. In that case, please contact us for alternative arrangement. However, the re-arranged date and time will depend on the availability of the rooms.
The activities to be carried out should be appropriate to the venue and pose no potential hazard to the University community. Users shall ensure the activities are conducted safely.
FMO reserves the right to disapprove a booking, to remove and dispose of any material, or to stop any activities that do not comply with the above-mentioned rules without notice.

Guidelines on Reserving Teaching Venues and Counters through Online Booking System
Online booking of the venues is privileged for University activities only. For non-university activities, the attempted online booking will be sent to FMO and confirmation of booking will be subject to FMO's approval and hiring charges. For venues managed by FMO, online booking is confined to one month ahead only and cannot be made for the current log-on day. If users would like to make booking on the current day, or advanced booking further than 1 month, or booking for an extended period, or cancel a booking, please contact FMO Help Desk at 2788 8833 or email to fmrmbook@cityu.edu.hk.
Booking of lecture theatres and classrooms for the next semester will start from a date to be announced after the class schedule for the next semester being completed.
Lecture theatres and classrooms are open daily from 08:30 to 22:20 hours, available on hourly interval at the 30th minute of an hour to the 20th minute of next hour. If users have special request for booking that falls outside the normal opening hours, please contact FMO Help Desk.
Language laboratories and video laboratories are closed on Saturday afternoons (after 12:30 hours), Sundays and public holidays, and are therefore not available for online booking. If users have special request, prior arrangement has to be made with the FMO AV Service Counter at 2788 8341 or 2788 8344.
Use of counters outside 5/F City Express is basically on daily basis, users can book a counter for a whole day.
Room usage shall not involve any commercial value, profit-related nature and/or personal use.
When a booking has been confirmed online, users will be subsequently notified of the booking details through email. Users may also examine the booking status at anytime through the online booking system.
There are situations where a teaching venue or an activity venue has been booked but unused eventually while some users are desperate for a venue. If a booking is no longer required, users are requested to cancel the booking by using the online booking system or by notifying FMO Help Desk as soon as possible in order to optimize the use of space.
FMO reserves the right to arrange room swapping when need arises.
Users shall not transfer the booking to other university members or outsiders and will hold responsibility for the venue throughout the entire reserved period.
Users who fail to observe the aforesaid regulations and/or specific regulations for use of venues (if any) may be debarred from using the venues and/or equipment. The misbehavior may also be reported to authorities concerned for appropriate disciplinary action.
Users can make online cancellation for bookings made by themselves or their student societies (except on-the-day booking). Users can also contact FMO Help Desk or send email to fmrmbook@cityu.edu.hk for booking cancellation.
Subject to the availability of teaching venues after central timetabling by ARRO for a new semester being finalized and curriculum-related reservations being updated to the system, the online booking system will then be formally released for booking.
All time slots and teaching venues of class schedule are available for booking in public holidays and related school holidays (Lunar New Year Break and Easter Break) as stated in Academic Calendar. Please contact FMO Help Desk or send email to fmrmbook@cityu.edu.hk for this kind of booking.
