Description
A more energy efficient water-cooled chiller plant of total 1500 refrigeration tons was installed to replace existing air-cooled chillers in the central air-conditioning plant serving Sports Centre and Bank of China (Hong Kong) Complex. Evaporative cooling towers are used as the means for heat rejection in the system.

Water-cooled chillers of total capacity of 3000 Rtons have been installed for the central air-conditioning plant (total capacity of 7000 Rtons). Compared with the air-cooled chillers, use of water-cooled chillers can realize saving in energy consumption of 22% in year 2010, which equates to reduction of carbon emission by planting of 22,246 no. of trees.
