Financial Support
The UGC-funded students who are taking a full-time government-funded bachelor's degree, may apply for partial sponsorship from the Student Exchange Fund administered by the Mainland and External Affairs Office.
The non-UGC funded students at College of Humanities and Social Sciences may apply for the "College of Humanities and Social Sciences Student Exchange Scholarships for Outbound Exchange Students" from the College subject to funding availability and the merits of individual cases. Eligible students may apply for funding support ranging from HK$9,000 to HK$20,000 for one semester.

To be eligible for the CHASS Student Exchange Scholarships for Outbound Exchange Students, you must have met the eligibility and selection criteria for CHASS exchange programme and must:

have been selected to join the CHASS exchange programme at institutional/college/departmental level;

have been officially accepted by overseas partner institutions to take part in the exchange programme;

have satisfied the English Language Requirement or any other language requirements as specified for individual exchange programmes BEFORE departing for exchange studies. (Note: Failure to fulfill the language requirement will result in the withdrawal of the grant. Students are strongly advised to take the test early and fulfill the requirement as early as possible.)
Upon successful application of the funding, 80% will be given to you via Student Development Services upon your submission of the required documents. The remaining 20% will be given to you upon your submission of relevant receipts of exchange studies when you return from overseas.
