Application Procedures

The International Exchange Programme organized by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS) provides an ideal opportunity for you to explore the traditions and modern realities in Hong Kong whilst also making local friends. The CHASS has established student exchange agreements with respective academic units of partner institutions overseas. If you are interested in joining this programme, please follow the steps below:

Step 1

Check with your home institution if the CHASS at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has an exchange agreement with your home institution.

Step 2

Consult with your home institution's academic advisor/ departmental coordinator as to the suitability of the proposed exchange study and related procedures.

Step 3

Submit the completed application to us via your home institution.

Apart from the student exchange programme at the College level, CityU also offers exchange opportunities at the institutional and departmental levels. For institutional-level applications, applicants will need to send their applications directly to the Mainland and External Affairs Office,  whereas departmental level applications should be sent to the respective academic department at CityU.

Application Deadlines

The application should reach the CHASS General Office no later than:

15 May for Semester A (September) Entry

30 October for Semester B (January) Entry
