Confidentiality Pledge

To comply with the Personal Data Privacy Ordinance, all users who have access to staff, student, alumni personal data, financial, and/or institutional information, MUST undertake the following confidentiality pledge:

I understand that I am granted access to sensitive personal, financial and/or institutional information. To ensure that the information is used and handled by authorized personnel only, I hereby pledge that I shall use the data in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Privacy Ordinance and according to the Policy on Use of IT Services and Facilities established by the University. I shall not disclose such information to any person except on a need-to-know basis. I will not disclose my user account password to anyone and will take all reasonable precautions within my control to prevent unauthorized access to such information via my user account. I should also avoid making any copies of such information in paper or electronic form. In case there is a need to make a copy of the information, I will take proper security measures to protect the media and the content, and will destroy all copies of the data after use.
