Growing up in a multi-lingual household, Terry has always been fond of languages and aspired to be a facilitator of communication. In his early twenties, he found his calling to Education, and pursued teacher training in the UK. He attained an MA in English Language Teaching from the University of Warwick, and then a Cambridge CELTA.
Terry has accumulated extensive experience in helping adult learners better their English in academic and vocational institutions, namely, CUHK, HKBU, PolyU and VTC. Keen to create student-centred experiences, he likes to ensure his lessons are multi-modal, interactive and learnable, often with the aid of ed-tech. His efforts in optimising online teaching have been recognised in the form of a Departmental Nomination of CityU’s Teaching Excellence Award 2020-21.
Terry would be delighted to hear from past, current and future students, as well as educators seeking collaborative opportunities. His current professional interests are technology-enhanced learning and student motivation.
