Swee Gim’s areas of teaching interest include English for Specific Purposes, Engineering Final Year Project report writing, Code-Switching, Englishes, Bilingualism, Language and Cultural Studies, Interlanguage, & Methodology for TESOL.
Prior to joining City University of Hong Kong, she was a coordinator, lecturer, & assessor for pre-tertiary entrance examinations, as well as undergraduate English language courses in Australia, China, and Singapore. She was actively involved in Orientation, Open House, Outreach, and Graduation committees. She was on the Editorial board of an institution’s website and publications for a decade.
She was the Editor of the newsletter, Chan Feng Men-ling Chan Shuk-Lin Language Centre, City University from 2011 to 2014. She was also on the Editorial board of College of Business Alumni online newsletter, 2012 to 2013, and College of Business MBA program newsletter, 2013 to 2015.
She has been largely teaching English for Engineering, Freshman English, supervising Final Year Project report writing, and mentoring students on the Master’s in TESOL, EN6255 course since joining City University.
