Students
can check whether they have to take ELC courses, and which courses they
should take, by going to the Academic Information Management System
(AIMS) through the CityU e-Portal.
Select AIMS
Select Student Registration Menu
Select English Language Attainment Requirement
Log onto the e-Portal
ELC
courses are included in the Master Schedule, which is posted in AIMS
about three weeks before the beginning of each semester and summer
term. Course registration is done online during the add/drop period but
may close early.
Students should read the
course registration notes before registering. Some courses are open
only to certain students. Some have conditions that must be met before
the course can be taken. The online system will normally reject an
attempt to register for an inappropriate course.
Add/drop requests after the close of online registration must be made directly to the ELC.
Online
registration is not available for courses offered outside regular
teaching periods or courses with an N under Web in the Master Schedule.
Other procedures will be announced. Special arrangements are also made
for students who are required to pass an ELC course exam without
attending the course.
The ELC reserves the right to:
Cancel any inappropriate registration
Cancel any class or change the class schedule without prior notice if necessary.
